Our Tier I practices need to change with the times, and should be adapting – all the time – to keep up with the changing needs of our students.
A school superintendent recently discussed what he is noticing in his student population:
“We looked at our data and saw that 85% of the students were being referred to Tier II or III.
When you have 85% needing extra support, what this tells me is it’s time to modify our Tier I practices.”
